Nebula Labs has renewed its partnership with the festival, acting again as the official digital partner. The free Newcastle Startup Week 2018 app aims to provide attendees with a simple, but informative guide to all events in the week. At the core of the app is the real-time updated schedule, which will display all the upcoming daytime and evening events. The ability to select specific events from the schedule to ‘Add to Favourites’ will help users to effectively manage their festival experience so there are easily able to view the events that they would prefer to attend. Furthermore, as the events will be occurring in different venues across Newcastle, there is an integrated map feature including pinpoints of all locations featured during the festival week. Attendees will also be able to select any event on the schedule and receive directions from their current location straight to the event. The map also retains the popular heatmap feature showing the areas of Newcastle populated by fellow festival attendees, engaging in official events or perhaps informal tech community meetups. Finally, attendees will be able to keep up to date with the latest events and discussion at the festival with Twitter and Instagram integration.
Nebula Labs will have a physical presence at the festival all week. In particular, at Monday’s “Inspiration Day” sessions at The Boiler Shop, co-founders Dylan and Nic will be participating in a panel discussion with Holly Thompson (founder & Director, Future Skills Vision) and James Moon (Founder & President, Moonjet Group) to reflect on the progress of their startups in the 12 months since Startup Week 2017. This should provide guests with a realistic overview of the experience of physically starting a startup business.
“12 months later…with Holly Thompson, James Moon, Dylan McKee & Nic Flynn” is at 13.35pm @ The Boiler Shop on Monday 14th May 2018.
