We developed Explain, a bespoke social networking and market research platform that enables organisations to engage directly with audiences through branded online communities.

The platform was created to help businesses gather meaningful feedback and encourage ongoing engagement through interactive research and discussion tools.

We designed and developed the full platform ecosystem, including:

• A scalable backend platform for managing communities, users and research activity
• A responsive frontend web platform for community engagement and administration
• Native iOS and Android mobile applications for accessible participation on the go
• Survey and polling tools for structured audience research and feedback collection
• Social networking features including posts, comments and user interaction
• Customisable branding allowing each organisation to tailor communities to their own identity
• Community moderation and management functionality for administrators

The platform was built using AWS, Django, Angular, Swift and Kotlin to support scalability, performance and long-term growth.

Today, Explain powers 18 active communities, helping organisations better understand and engage with their audiences through direct digital interaction.
