Organisations involved in transport planning need to be able to collect data on travel patterns and behaviours to inform the drive to more environmentally friendly travel and development of smart cities.
We partnered up with the National Innovation Centre for Data, incorporating Data Science academic teams at Newcastle University to develop an efficient way of automating the collection of travel survey data.

The result:

• We successfully developed a model with the data science team, then brought this in-house to integrate in a suite of trial mobile apps.
• We have trialled it so far with Sunderland City Council and the UK’s

largest business park, Cobalt, with up to 92% prediction accuracy.

• The custom model is owned by Nebula Labs and available for customers to licence for their travel data collection needs.
